Apple Replacing Google Maps in iPad and iPhone

The Wall Street Journal reported this morning that Apple will be replacing Google Maps as the default map service in iOS 6. This has been rumored for months, but the WSJ has always seemed to have pretty good sources inside Apple, so there’s more credibility here than average.

So what does this mean for the average iPad user? Probably a better map experience. I’ve seen some of the mapping technology that Apple has purchased over the last several years and it has the potential to be revolutionary.

For Google on the other hand, it’s not a good thing. This is just another way users won’t be relying on Google for information.

If you have a subscription to the WSJ, you can read the full article here.
